Hentz Jumping Spider, Male.
Found near the entrance to our attic, though that is pretty well-sealed. Noticed the distinctive front legs immediately, but ID took a bit of time. As I attempt with all small critters found in the house, I captured him and released him outside.

Thanks for catching and releasing! Near the attic is an odd spot for it. I think it may have followed an insect upward to the ceiling rather than come down from the attic. Wouldn’t hurt to check your attic. Believe me, my husband didn’t check our attic (I’m not allowed to use a ladder to do it myself) after a strong windstorm and he checked it today during a rainstorm and found a big hole in the roof. Water damage and probably bugs too.
