Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 This looks like a Silver Argiope, Argiope argentata.
Thank you very much. Tried to find identification on the internet, but to no avail. It was sitting on the rocks a few feet off the ocean. Can’t remember the exact size, but it looked big to me. I was unsure at the time if it was poisonous.
Like most spiders they have venom but are not considered to be of medical significance and are only likely to bite in self defense.
