I think it might be a Spotted Orbweaver. I spotted it the night before and was still there the next morning, then disappeared.

I think you are right. This looks like a Hentz orbweaver, Neoscona crucifera. It’s one of the spotted orbweavers.
I agree. Do you know what she’s eating? In the morning they usually eat their webs (recycling) and rest in a cool dark hiding place nearby. Sometimes they use part of the exterior of a house or wrap a leaf around their body. Look for her when it is dark. Use a flashlight 🙂 it isn’t rare for people to walk face first into the web when they are looking for their Orbweaver in the dark.
not sure what she’s eating…it was definitely a black bug, came out after the kill….
Yes I’ve noticed that these spiders build new webs every night, and using a flashlight is usually the only way I can see them. This one actually stayed out till about 10 in the morning, then disappeared.
There are a lot of Orb weavers around my house, I used to be terrified of all spiders but I finally overcame the fear and I love them now.
