Picture of unidentified spider

Comments & ID Thoughts

I have no idea what this is, its black and shiny , sort of a silky coat. It was in a web outside my window catching everything that came close and he never missed a thing , or she. I just want to know what it is and is it poisonous. Thanks for any help.

Hi, this is one of the orbweavers in the genus Neoscona. I don’t know which species, but it’s not dangerous. None of the orbweavers (make the classic, round spider web) are dangerous.
