Comments & ID Thoughts

I live in Kansas City, Ks., USA I found it in the back of my shirt after a night walk with my dog. I don't know anything about this bug or spider. It was about 2 inches long in the body.

I do know this: that is NOT a spider, most likely an insect because of its six legs instead of eight.

Sort of reminds me of the Western Conifer Seed Bug.

KaeTheCat, I like your user photo. Josezamora, Bugguide.net has volunteers that identify insects if you want to get a solid answer. This is probably one that you can figure out yourself though.

This is a Wheel Bug (Arilus cristatus). I agree, it’s not a spider.
