Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 This looks a bit like a male Nursery Web Spider – Pisaura mirabilis, but the angle is a bit tricky for me so I’m not sure. Did you happen to get a full dorsal shot of him?
If I see it again, I’ll take another photo.
by the shape of its pedipalps size and shape I would go with a hobo spider
The pattern is quite different:
the giant house spider also look similar
They eye arrangement appears to be different.
(Edited, removed second comparison, accidentally linked to female.)
I think Storminateacup1 is right. But it’s definitely in the Eratigena family.
http://www.animaldiscoveryonline.com/giant-house-spider/ that may help
Thanks, That helped! After a little research I came to the conclusion that it’s a Giant House Spider – Eratigena atrica.
cool glad it helped
The median carapace stripe and abdominal pattern are different. There is a video here showing the courtship of Pisaura mirabilis. I would rather link to a still shot for comparison but didn’t come across one that I liked of a male at the same angle in the same color morph as yours. Your spider looks like the male in this video but the eye cluster in your image looks a little strange so I hesitate to say that is definitely what yours is, it’s likely just because it’s a little blurry there.
