Would love if someone could tell me what this spider is and maybe even what this bug is! The bug was dragging the spider after I watched for a minute. At first I wasn’t sure which was the winner but it appears that the spider lost this battle.
Hi, I used Google Lens on the image for help with the wasp. The second answer from Google, Tarantula Hawk Wasp, looks correct. There is a Wikipedia entry for the wasp. The spider looks like a Wolf Spider. The dorsal markings are partially obscured. Wolf Spiders can turn blackish when they are dead or dying (from photos we’ve seen) and that may complicate the identification. Tigrosa helluo is my best guess.
