Picture of unidentified spider

Comments & ID Thoughts

This is the spider upside down, unsure if the white on the end of it was an egg sack or not. It was found on the second floor inside of a bed, and was moving fast.

That is a Roly poly spider aka Woodlouse. We had them in a basement apartment we lived in. They are big and scary looking but stuck to eating roly polys.

Yes, the fangs are shaped perfectly for killing round soft-sided species and not much else. The Latin name is Dysdera crocata. A main common name is Woodlouse Hunting Spider. The white thing is the dorsum (abdomen) of the spider. It looks weird because the color is so different from the front half, the prosoma (cephalothorax). They need to be able to run fast because they are the kind of spider that grabs prey instead of trapping it.
