What spider is this?
She’s an orbweaver, possibly genus Neoscona. Can you get a dorsal image too? You can use it as a profile photo or upload it as a new posting (the website’s programming needs a functional upgrade). Most of the identifying features we use are on the top of the spider. We can only go to genus level of taxonomy from the ventral image. The dorsal brings us to species. I went back to check on it and seemed it to have captured and what looks like a black garden ant, it was using its mouth parts, I didn’t see it wrap around its prey with any more web, it just sorta went for it.
