Ween I was trying to click picture of this particular spider, it could see me and was following my movement. It kept me in sight at all times, and then it jumped on my phone so shook it off. I asked several people and they said it was a defensive attack, please identify the spider, I’m really curious.
This is a jumping spider! Family Salticidae. I’m not sure which species specifically.
The jump was not an attack, they’re just very curious and sometimes when they notice a reflective surface they try to get it. 😀
I had one just yesterday relentlessly chasing my camera lense as I tried to snap a photo!
They’ve been known to even chase laser pointers like kittens!
They are not dangerous, the most damage they can do is a small itchy bite.
And they don’t bite unless mishandled (being squished or something.)
I’ve held plenty of them and never had a problem.
