I believe that’s a garden spider, most are completely harmless… I’ve had one in my yard every summer. It also once crawled into my kitchen when it was raining really bad… I put it in a plastic container and threw it in the garden after the rain, it relocated three more times… then, it spent the fall on my surveillance camera lens… the cold killed it eventually. I was a bit sad but it left plenty of eggs.
They are quite large and intimidating, but they wont bother people unless threatened (the most it might do is jump on you if it senses danger, if people try to kill them their bite is as painful as a wasp sting, but again harmless); it does eat a whole lot of garden pests.

Awesome I had figured it was a type of orb Weaver or something just cause of its size. It is easily 4inchs if not more.
