I originally feared this was a hobo spider or wolf spider, but after doing some research I now suspect this is a Genus Agelenopsis – Grass Spider. Please confirm? I found this in the garden in my backyard.

Yes, that’s how I would identify it. We don’t go to species level identification for this genus because it doesn’t work from photos.
