About 4 inches long. This tarantula was attempting to cross the street in a residential canyon area, near a popular hiking spot, in Los Angeles. We stopped cars & another driver helped – used a plastic stick to help it along gently & safely. At first it froze in place but eventually moved across the street in its original direction with the help of the very gentle prodding. It seemed docile & compliant. Almost pet-like.
