Comments & ID Thoughts
I just bought a house in San Antonio TX with a pool in the backyard. Our yard has a greenbelt behind it. I keep finding these in the bottom of the pool. Probably around 10 or 12 of them now.

Tentatively Brachypelma vagans I’ve seen a few in the area, but it’s hard to tell for sure.
Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 I can’t see some details as well as I’d like but this is likely a South Western Trapdoor Spider (Eucteniza relata).

Thanks for the reply. And idea why so many are ending up in the bottom of the pool? Probably 20 of them now. Just curious at this point. Thanks
Pure speculation, but I wonder if the reason is that they are males wandering in search of mates, they sense the water and want to drink but they fall in and can’t climb out.
