Unidentified Orb Weaver
Any help identifying this beautiful orb weaving spider spotted in the piedmont region of North Carolina, September 11, 2019?
It’s web was a classic radial orb, with heavy applications of silk on evenly spaced radials coming from the center of the web.
It was much smaller than the common writing spider species seen around here.
It’s cephalothorax was slightly smaller than .5 inch/1.27cm in width.
