Comments & ID Thoughts

I originally thought this was a recluse, but, upon further research, I found this to possibly be a Huntsman spider. I came across the Texas Invasive Species Institute website, and it was listed as one of the invasive species for this area. If this is in fact a Huntsman, they said it comes from inside of structures, which would make sense as we’ve found multiple open cracks - wide cracks - around our window casings. This isn’t the first one of these we’ve found in our apartment, but I didn’t think to take pictures before. I’m not sure what happened to its other legs, but that’s how I found it on my ceiling.
