I believe this is a Banded Garden Spider or a Wasp Spider. Haven’t seen one of these around here before.

She’s a Banded Garden Spider, Argiope trifasciata. We don’t have many spider reports at all from Saskatchewan. Another Orbweaver, Argiope aurantia is starting to spread out in Canada. It would make sense that another Argiope species might too.

Thanks for the quick confirmation. Hopefully this spider feeds on lots of grasshoppers. She was in a quiet area so she should live for awhile.
