Comments & ID Thoughts
I'm not even sure if this is a spider. I think I found it in the process of building a web from my monitor to my desk chair. It had one long string and globs of silk on it which it gobbled up once I disturbed it.
It had a mostly bright white back, and a bright golden belly. It was fairly small. Maybe a 1/4 inch or so.

Nice find! This is Micrathena mitrata, a White Micrathena Orbweaver Spider. We don’t see many photos of them. This may become our site’s first confirmed sighting for Virginia if it is confirmed by our moderator.
Thank you! It is definitely the Micrathena Mitrata!
