I think this might be an Orb Weaver of some sort, except that the web that it wove isn't an Orb Web. I found it on the side of a building.

What the identification means is that she could only tell with enough confidence from the photo that it is a spider in family Theridiidae. The abbreviation c.f. means “compare to”, or less scientifically, “This is my best educated guess at which species it is.” Now your submission should be in the family Theridiidae and Wisconsin state statistics too.
