Comments & ID Thoughts
This spider has been running around my desk for days. It's really fast. It's amazing I was able to get a decent picture. No way I can capture it with a cup. Any idea what it is, habits, and whether I not I should be concerned about it? I've never seen it before and I've lived in North Texas almost 30 years.

Hi, and welcome to the site. Your spider looks to be a ground sac spider,Corinnidae family, likely Castianeira SPP. ( Castianeira crocata ??)

They are not dangerous but they are venomous.
Thank you. There doesn’t seem to be much information out there that I could find. It doesn’t seem to be aggressive (I hope). I’m a little nervous about it wandering all over my desk so quickly from one side to another, behind, over, under, etc. I like spiders of all kinds, I just don’t like not knowing where it is and not being able to catch it to take it outside.
These are not aggressive, just a bit skittish trying to catch them by hand.
Not likely to bite unless trapped against the skin and for a spider, may sting a bit like a mild bee sting. I worry about accidentally squishing them when they are out of sight.
