Hi, and welcome to the site. It looks more like a male wolf spider, Lycosidae family. More an outdoor sort, but do stray indoors. No more dangerous than house spiders. Sorry I can’t see enough detail to tag your little friend.

If it’s still under the cup gently slide a stiff piece of paper under the glass, once you’ve done this you can flip the glass over so he’s down in the glass … Wolf Spiders typically have a hard time climbing smooth surfaces … and then you could just release him outside.
