It seems to be missing a leg
I think she is a Tiger Wolf Spider in genus Tigrosa. I’m not sure. Spiders lose legs readily as a way to escape being caught by a predator or trapped by a stuck foot. Sometimes they lose legs that get trapped during molting.
Yes, definitely a wolf spider. I compared different Tigrosa spiders with this one, and my guess is that it’s a Tigrosa helluo. Or a Tigrosa georgicola.
Ok, so it’s a Lycosa erythrognatha for sure. How can I change its status to Identified?
Our Site Moderator has to agree with the identification then she will file it with the identification over the photo when she has time. She is a volunteer and there are many photos that she has to study.
Got it! Thanks for your help. Hopefully she’ll agree it’s a Lycosa erythrognatha.
