I found this spider in my crockpot that I was storing beside my basement steps. Is it poisonous??
Hi, looks like a male Steatoda, probably a Steatoda grossa. They are not dangerous spiders; their bite is perhaps as serious as a bee sting. They are completely harmless unless you are allergic to their (rather weak) venom, which is very rare.
It looks like a male Steatoda grossa to me also.
