I have bites all over me from painting outdoors. They are surprising aggressive. I believe its an orb weaver but don't know. No spiders were harmed in the taking of this photo!

This is a Long-jawed Orbweaver in Family Tetragnathidae. I didn’t know they are aggressive. This time of year they might have been trying to protect egg sacs or hatchlings. What did the bites feel like? I’ve seen them mostly next-to brooks and rivers. I’ve handled them bare-handed as I pulled invasive vines from a bridge. Should I rethink that?

Thank you that does answer it. Most sources of spider bite info describe most of them feeling like a wasp sting. It seems very unlikely. The bites I’ve had didn’t feel like that. The bites from Yellow Sac Spiders looked watery and formed lesions. The itching lasted for weeks. Thank you for not killing them. Female spiders are impressive in their vigilance in guarding their offspring. I tried to explain that motherly devotion to my Mother-in-Law to convince her that spiders aren’t bad. It didn’t work.
