I have bites all over me from painting outdoors. They are surprising aggressive. I believe its an orb weaver but don't know. No spiders were harmed in the taking of this photo!

These guys sit with their legs folded flat half in front half behind them at first glance they look like a silverfish
This is a Long-jawed Orbweaver in Family Tetragnathidae. I didn’t know they are aggressive. This time of year they might have been trying to protect egg sacs or hatchlings. What did the bites feel like? I’ve seen them mostly next-to brooks and rivers. I’ve handled them bare-handed as I pulled invasive vines from a bridge. Should I rethink that?
As i understand it , Spider venom is fun in the sense that reaction is dependent on immune response of the victim. So often its not the first time but following bites that get ugly. As far as i understand it anyway. Yes, many had egg sacs. Learned that after several days of fighting them. Lol ill attach pics of the bites. Thank u so much for your response!
How do i post pics onto this thread?
Anyway, the bite is painful enough to mention. The bites initially look like mosquito bites. My latest bite, i watched happen 8 hrs ago, now area is inflamed, with some discoloring to the puncture. The ones that happened last week appear to be healing but as an open wound. They have been itchy the whole time. I have been trying to remove them as i don’t believe its ny place to kill anything. Hope that description answers your question
Thank you that does answer it. Most sources of spider bite info describe most of them feeling like a wasp sting. It seems very unlikely. The bites I’ve had didn’t feel like that. The bites from Yellow Sac Spiders looked watery and formed lesions. The itching lasted for weeks. Thank you for not killing them. Female spiders are impressive in their vigilance in guarding their offspring. I tried to explain that motherly devotion to my Mother-in-Law to convince her that spiders aren’t bad. It didn’t work. We don’t have any way to identify or file bite photos. If you can… Read more »
