Comments & ID Thoughts
Spotted while looking for more Widow / False Widow spiders, in same vicinity. Just inside my garage door, spotted at night. this one was at ground level and seemed pretty active. It’s maybe an inch long, leg-tip to leg-tip, and looked ‘new’ somehow - shiny and almost a pinkish-brown (could have been just the light). Not sure which web it was headed for, as it was apparently off exploring and, well, turns out I have a lot of spiderwebs in my garage.
Haven’t researched this one much yet - focusing on the possible Widows - and couldn’t guess what it might be. Any ID or other tips would be welcomed.

Hi, This one looks to be a woodlouse hunter, Dysdera crocata species. Another that are low risk.

Yep, that looks like the guy. I didn’t get a good look at his face to note the pincer-style mandibles, but the colouring and shorter rear legs sound like a perfect fit. He’ll be happy – we have hundreds, thousands of wood lice around – and I’m happy he’s no threat to me or my kittens. Thanks!
