Comments & ID Thoughts

This spider found upstairs master bath wall, but have found at least 7-10 all in unfinished basement. Not crawlspace, but in open finishable space. This spider has a marking on abdomen appeared to be brown. 1 in to 1.5 in total span.

Hi,and welcome to he site, your spider is one of the ground spiders, Gnaphosidae family.
These are called parson spiders for their stripes, Herpyllus ecclesiasticus species.
They pose no risk but a bite may be painful.

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 The suggested ID may be likely but this is close enough to an overlap in range to other similar species in the genus that generally need microscopic examination to separate them so only filing to genus.
