You’re close, she’s a Marbled Orbweaver, Araneus marmoreus. Within a genus, some of the same basic markings are shared. For these two species the leg band colors are important. A. marmoreus is red&white proximal, black &white distal. A. trifolium has white and a dark color alternating leg band markings.

My mother doesn’t like spiders, but she found a nice crafted statuette of this species (the abdomen is a big marble) and keeps it next-to her kitchen table.
