We just moved from Texas to Wisconsin. I am finding these while unpacking the boxes in the basement. I’ve never seen them in Texas though, and we had our stuff in storage in Wisconsin for a couple of weeks.
https://spiderid.com/picture/45649/ I’m not definite on the ID. The S. borealis that I’ve seen have the gold arch over the abdomen and a straight line down the dorsal surface. The one in my photo in the link also has lateral gold lines that are common. The markings on the one in this post are unusual, I think a bit is missing in the markings. That leads me to think it might be Steatoda nobilis, with its skull mark.

This might be Meta Ovalis. It is a species of Cobweaver that Wisconsin has that isn’t common in many states. It isn’t dangerous to people or pets.
