It was in a web outside an abandoned building in an area that does not currently have a lot of human traffic. I think the common name is "garden spider." I donʻt know the scientific name.

I would guess Argiope appensa, the Hawaiian Garden Spider. iNaturalist records it as the only Argiope sighted in the Northern Mariana Islands, with 16 sightings total.
