Comments & ID Thoughts

Found near a lightswitch in my apartment—is it dangerous? It doesn't look like a brown recluse or hobo spider to my untrained eyes, but I'm not sure. It has been there for nearly a day. I'm happy to leave it alone if it's not dangerous, but it may not appreciate me toggling the nearby lightswitch.

I don't see a web; it's just been sitting there on the wall for almost a full day since I discovered it.

Hi, welcome to spider ID. 🙂 This looks like a male Gray Cross Spider, Larinioides sclopetarius.
