Found this while cleaning a home in Ann Arbor Michigan today . I have never seen this type of spider and think it is a pumpkin or shamrock spider

This spider was certainly beautiful but scary . Thought it was an engorged tick at first . No one I know has ever seen one like it
You guessed the genus she’s in. I think she’s Araneus diadematus, a Cross Orbweaver. Ticks are arachnids too, so not that far off. And she is bulging, but with maturing eggs. It is the time of year for her to put them into an egg sack to continue growing outside of her body. The hatchlings are freeze-resistant. So, I hope you put her outdoors so the hatchlings don’t develop indoors. She isn’t a spider with venom dangerous to people or pets and she is unlikely to bite. Thank you for the information . So interesting, I am not sure how she got in . Possibly on a dog? She was crawling in the floor and took me by surprise . Yes I let her go … hoping she does the job she is here for !
