Only dangerous to bugs. It’s a Spitting Spider, Scytodes species. These are really cool! They have the ability to combine their venom and web silk and spit it onto prey. The toxic gooey web entangles the prey. Imagine if these spiders were human-sized….. Then remember it isn’t and it isn’t anything to worry about.
WOW!! That is very cool! I have encountered such a wide variety of arachnids at my home in the panhandle of FL! I have grown up afraid of spiders but am beginning to appreciate them and their role in keeping the bug population at bay. I admit they’re still creepy but I’m less app to squish them than I used to, UNLESS, they’re poisonous or WAY TO BIG!

You’re welcome! Please don’t squish the big ones, that’s just worse in a few ways. We like spiders in the same way some people like to walk around with constrictor snakes in public. We are impressed by their abilities yet acknowledge the learned fear most of us have of them. You live in a great place for spider hunting. It’s better than the snake show-off thing. I went to high school with a guy who later made the news for calling 911 for rescue because his pet constrictor had grown too large and wrapped around him in the bathroom and… Read more »
I went back in to re-read your comments this was way too funny! Thanks for your help. I’m growing when it comes to the southern house spider I have them everywhere in my house. Some big ones too! I still don’t like black or brown widows! As for snakes I’ve only seen two visitors so far a black racer and a rat snake.. I hope you made it through 2020, peace!
Found thing on my bed as I moved my comforter it was alive and kicking. Captured it in the glass shown in pic. This is not dangerous right?
