This little (big) spider has been living by my door since spring. It hides during the day but comes out at night. We are in the High Desert, so it gets very hot in summer and quite cold in winter. I have never seen this type of spider here. Anyone know what exactly it is?
Try moving a little bit further from her. My autofocus camera tells me when I have the camera (LG cellphone) in the best spot. It usually needs me to back up and give it more time. Your picture has too much exposure, try shooting at an angle to reduce the light scatter off of the spider. If you’re using a cellphone, they aren’t made for close-ups of small objects in the dark. Hi there looks like a Angulate also known as orbweavers, it’s hard to tell what kind because how bright and blurry the photo is :3

Araneus gemma’s angulate projections are more pointy and they tend to have a bright white line between them.
