Theridion c.f. T. varians No, this is a Cobweaver in family Theridiidae. They have a very similar body shape to Orbweavers. Orbweavers are rarely black/shiny gold/ shiny silver combinations, but many common Cobweavers have these colors. There are some dangerous Cobweavers in genus Latrodectus. The majority aren’t dangerous. My initial notation is meant to say this looks like Theridion varians, if I did it correctly. The “c.f.” is a Latin or Greek abbreviation for “compare to.”
