Just saw the same spider and took a photo which matches yours. I live in Bella Vista, AR and it was slowly walking across the driveway. To prevent it from being run over, I let it climb on a leaf and moved it to the side of the pavement. Since I can’t identify it on the internet, I am going to send the photo to the entomology dept at the U of A in Fayetteville. Is there an entomology dept at ASU in Jonesboro?

ASU doesnt have an entomology department per say but there are some faculty members who do research in that field. I’d check out the Biological Sciences department for more information.
Araneus marmoreus
Marbled Orb-Weaver
