My boyfriend sent me this video from the Timnath Walmart garden center in northern Colorado. We think it's a black widow but neither of us have ever seen a pattern like that around here and I've seen plenty of widows.

Yes, that’s a Black Widow. Her abdomen is a bit rumbled from the expanding and contracting it goes through as eggs develop inside, then are oviposited in egg sacs. There are three Black Widow species in the U.S. Your local species is the Western Black Widow. Some states have multiple species plus the ones that can arrive on transported goods.
