I think it might be a Latrodectus geometricus: brown widow

Did you get a photo of the top of the spider? Extra pics can be uploaded as new submissions. Just add a note that tells us that the photos go together. We can find all of someone’s photos through their account. The hourglass does look like a Brown Widow’s – wide and orange-red. The spider looks black though. A Black Widow usually has a line or row of spots down the back. Brown Widows look like Post-Modern art. the egg sacs of the two types of spiders are totally different. Looks similar to some sort of widow like a black one just with striped legs and brown right? The hourglass gives the spider away as some sort of widow.

The dorsal markings of Brown Widows are very different from the three Black Widow species. The ventral markings are similar, the hourglass is just a bit wider and paler on the Brown. Since this spider appears to be black, I just wanted to have extra info to confirm that it is a Brown. I’m still memorizing these things. People with more experience might be able to be sure from the ventral.
