Hi, yes this is a False Widow in genus steatoda of family Theridiidae. It isn’t dangerous to people or pets, but they are great at killing insects that get into a home. While they are killing bugs for you they’ll try to avoid conflict with you. They don’t see well, they use sense of touch more. So they hide in dark places to avoid being seen by predators (such as humans) that they can’t see.
