Was trapped between screen & window in Fall but was afraid to trap & release. Now in December after several freezes retrieved & took photo. Is it common or dangerous?

Hi, it looks like Larinioides sclopetarius, a Bridge Orbweaver. They are known to be attracted to raised steel structures. I found one this year next-to a bridge. It is neither that rare or common. Some species just don’t get noticed by people, so it is difficult to say based on sightings. I found mine because I was dangling over a stone embankment over a foul stagnant brook in a public park looking for spiders. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have seen her. They aren’t dangerous to people.
