My friend got bit by The Spider and I’m trying to help her identify it
Male Steatoda borealis (False Widow).
Thank you for the information but the bite problems my friend is experiencing does not sound harmless as false widows are described.
Sometimes bacterial infections like MRSA are misattributed to spider bites. There may have been bacteria sampling done that your friend doesn’t know about and results that haven’t been provided yet. Your spider’s identification came from our Site Moderator herself. We can’t give you a more experienced answer than hers.
