This guy/girl has been hanging out in the corner above my front door for the last 6 days. Today when I came home, it was on the ground dead. Can anyone tell me what type of spider this is? I live in Northern Nevada. Thank you.

She was an Orbweaver in family Aranidae. This is her underside in the photo. Someone might recognize the genus, the species is usually identified by a photo of the topsde. In USA the females generally live Autumn to Autumn. The males don’t live as long. Hopefully, she was able to produce an egg sac and has hatchlings waiting for Spring to come so they can set out to new places. The females often set up webs above front doors because there is artificial lighting there that attracts nocturnal insects. Dinner is lured right to them.
