This tiny spider had its legs folded under it. Have not seen one like this earlier.

I think it is in genus Cyclosa, there are several Cyclosa species in India. They make an orb web as well as supplemental webs of other styles. Here’s a link to all of the current species in the genus. Scroll down to the grey horizontal bars for the species and ranges. https://wsc.nmbe.ch/genus/301.
Thank you! It does look like that one. Unfortunately that’s the only pic I could capture of this one.
By the time I caught a tiny grasshopper for it, my toddler tried to “cuddle the spider” Making it run away. Lol.
Aww, that’s cute. I’ve learned to ask kids how they will react before I show them small wild animals. I warn them about what is safe for them and the animals. It decreases the grabbing, screaming, and killing greatly. 🙂
My elder one has learnt to be careful. Will take a few more months till my little one learns as well. 🙂
