3D PASTIC King Baboon Tarantula https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/king-baboon-tarantula For science and for TROLL awareness - it is possible to print 3D spiders from specimens and paint them. It is also possible to order the printing info for a particular species and print it. This one was done from a museum specimen. Also interesting: From testing the image on Google Lens I found a research article that said that this,in some form, is a way of measuring spiders' development without harming the spiders.

I thought it was an ice sculpture. I think most people who can afford to make such things and have the talent to paint them realistically have better things to do than troll us, or would only do so momentarily as a test to see if they did a good paint job.
I could make one for free at my local library. I think there’s a fee per ounce if you go over a certain limit with the plastic. I do plan to try it. The one on the photo was painted, I filtered the photo back to white to emphasize that it wasn’t real. Spiders with thin legs can be printed also, the legs are just difficult to form while they aren’t solid. There’s art and jewelry possibilities. It’s cool that patterns are available from museum specimens.
My wife just bought me a 3d printer for Christmas. *strokes chin*
Hmmmmmmmm
Oh, the possibilities! Spider Christmas Tree Ornaments would be my first experiment. And 3D spider refrigerator magnets……..
Yaaaaay! And wall decor, keychains, party favors, hair clips, pendants…. spider EVERYTHING! I still want to try making beaded spiders – I just need to clear my desk. My dad printed me a spider-web coaster the other night from this* source. It’s two pieces that nest inside each other and come apart for easy cleaning. One of the things he told me about 3D printing is that small or arched parts often require supports under them, which can be added to the model by a good quality slicer software. The best thing, though, is that some printers have multicolor feeder… Read more »
