The other photo is much clearer, is it the same spider? the “yes” for “found in web?” is pre-checked off on the submission form, it is easy to miss that the answer might need to be changed. I would like to see that changed on the site’s programming. Thank you for telling us that it wasn’t found in a web.

Do you have an idea of the type of spider it is? The a blue Mountains west of Sydney is a known Sydney Funnel Web area, but I don’t think it’s one of those…..

Is this the same spider as the one in the web? It would be really great if we had a volunteer in Australia! Most of us have been identifying spiders for less than a year. Websites that identify Worldwide spiders are fairly new. I think either Project Noah or iNaturalist has an Australian website. We’ll let you know if we find the identification for your spider.
