Am concerned these may be brown widow spiders in my bathroom? All found in corners close to ground with rather messy unstructured looking web. I couldn't make out any orange/red markings, looked rather to have beige markings. Very pronounced button like abdomen. Live bordering a forest and we have had brown widows & egg sac identified on property previously. Am very concerned as I have a 3mnth old baby.

Hi, I agree that they don’t look like Brown Widows. False Widows have egg sacs that look like white balls (Steatoda) or shaped like vases (Parasteatoda). Brown Widows have white egg sacks with spikes on them. Your spiders may have been False Katipos. Please don’t feel bad for trying to protect your baby. The spiders would bite you if they felt they needed to protect their babies. I appreciate that you are trying to learn which ones are dangerous instead of killing everything, like many people unfortunately do.
