Help! What is this?!
This is Steatoda triangulosa. You don’t need help, the spider IS the help. 🙂 These are awesome little hunters. They can catch mosquitoes and flies better than any other house spiders I’ve had. They eat all kinds of insects and other arachnids. As a group the genus Steatoda are False Widows. I saw one kill an invasive stink bug – another positive. They are in the same family, Theridiidae, as Black Widows, but they are dangerous to people. That’s why they are FALSE Widows.
