Hi all, never seen this spider before so was curious if anyone has any info on it.
Hi, she is probably Argiope flavipalps, an orb web spider. They aren’t dangerous to people. She’s a predator of flying insects. Your photo shows three styles of web that spiders in genus Argiope can make. The main web is the orb (circle) web. The straight line strands are for support, the circle strands are the sticky ones for catching prey. There are two kinds of stabilimenta, “decorative web additions, ” in the photo.
