Hi, I think this is a Grass Spider that’s trying to stay warm. They look a bit wicked, but they aren’t dangerous to people. They use their webs as a sensor, rather than a trap. The webs aren’t sticky enough to hold most insects, but the spider holds the threads with its feet and knows the feel of prey moving. It knows which direction to move and very swiftly pins the prey with its legs. It’s cool to see how quickly they can move.
