We had a very knowledgeable guide who knew every animal we came across except this one, which he just said “I don’t like this spider” and kept his distance

Hi, I’m not familiar with the species in your region and a lot of the species I would want to compare it to are not well represented online. However it looks like it could be something in the family Corinnidae. There is a different but somewhat similar species here: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/25530411
Maybe your tour guide didn’t like it, but I think this is an attractive spider and I like it. 🙂
