Hi,and welcome to the site. Your not so little friend is a golden huntsman spider, family Sparassidae,Olios giganteus species. Worth having around if you can tolerate them.

Thanks! So Dan, I was just wandering why this one is very dark in color, the other Huntsmen all seem to have the tab colors going on. Also what does dorsal mean, and if I can tolerate him? Lol he just is chilling on the ceiling but should I get him outside? I have 2 children…
Hi, Well, Itsy Bitsy called the genus and species closer, this is a fairly new genus, 3 species, and so rarely found, I forget they exist. Dorsal is a term for top view perspective and tolerate, is if you don’t mind sharing your home with these. I have been up close and personal with the Olios and Heteropoda, and find them quite innocuous, even docile, and very reluctant to bite.
